March concert and Armeling Competition Canceled

Unfortunately, due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, the Steiner Chorale has canceled its Armeling Vocal Scholarship competition originally scheduled for March 15th. The Steiner Chorale has also decided to postpone its March 13th concert featuring the Bach Magnificat and the John Rutter Requiem. A new date and time is yet to be determined. All of this is unfortunate but a necessary step to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Tickets for Rutter Requiem and Bach Magnificat

Tickets are on sale now for The Steiner Chorale’s second concert of their season featuring John Rutter’s Requiem and Bach’s Magnificat in D.

The concert is March 13th at 7:30pm at University United Methodist Church, 1120 S Harrison Rd. in East Lansing. For tickets go to www.steinerchorale.eventbrite.com.

The concert will be conducted by Artistic Director, Corb H. Felgenhour and accompanied by James Schippers and Steiner Chorale’s Masterworks orchestra.

Auditions for next concert – John Rutter’s Requiem & the Bach Magnificat in D

After the completion of the Steiner Chorale’s first concert on December 6th, the chorale will be opening auditions for those interested in participating in the next concert. This concert will be March 13th at University United Methodist Church and the program will include John Rutter’s Requiem and Bach’s Magnificat in D. To sign up for an audition, please click here.

The Steiner Chorale’s first concert of the season is on December 6th at 8pm where they will be performing Vivaldi’s Gloria, Pergolesi’s Magnificat, Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and an original piece by Michael Engelhardt and Steiner’s Artistic Director, Corb H. Concert tickets on sale now for Vivaldi’s GLORIA and more

Tickets go on sale now for The Steiner Chorale’s first concert of their season featuring Vivaldi’s Gloria. Other works to be performed that night will be the beloved Magnificat by Giovanni Pergolesi and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols. Also on the program will be an original piece by Michael Engelhardt and Steiner Chorale’s Artistic Director, Corb H. Felgenhour entitled How Can I Keep From Singing.

Vocal competition dates announced for 2020; registration open

Registration is now open for the Ethel J. Armeling Vocal Scholarship Competition for High School students. The Ethel J. Armeling Vocal Scholarship Competition is open to any junior or senior in high school. Winners of the final round receive money awards to assist them to further future vocal studies. Focus of the literature presented is mainly on art song. To register, click here.

Steiner Chorale Rehearsals start Monday

Rehearsals begin Monday night on September 9th from 7 to 9pm at the University United Methodist Church on Harrison Rd. in East Lansing. The chorale will begin preparing for their December 6th concert. The program will include Vivaldi’s Gloria, Pergolesi’s Magnificat, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasy on Christmas Carols, and How Can I Keep From Singing, an original piece by Michael Engelhardt and Artist Director of the chorale, Corb H. Felgenhour.

Steiner Goes to Hollywood

The Steiner Chorale is pleased to announce that we are taking on Tinseltown! Please join us as we present our annual spring concert and fundraiser: Steiner Goes to Hollywood! We will visit classic favorites from Shall We Dance, Singin’ In the Rain, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s through modern epics including Top Gun, Lord of the Rings, and The Greatest Showman. This concert will be presented in conjunction with our silent auction, proceeds of which support the Ethel J. Armeling Vocal Scholarship Competition.
