Steiner Chorale rehearsals on hold

Due to the current COVID situation all rehearsals are temporarily postponed. The chorale is eager to resume rehearsals in the fall but are hesitant to announce a start date due to obvious circumstances. Please stay tuned for future announcements posted at either our Facebook page or our website.

Steiner Chorale Rehearsals start Monday

Rehearsals begin Monday night on September 9th from 7 to 9pm at the University United Methodist Church on Harrison Rd. in East Lansing. The chorale will begin preparing for their December 6th concert. The program will include Vivaldi’s Gloria, Pergolesi’s Magnificat, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasy on Christmas Carols, and How Can I Keep From Singing, an original piece by Michael Engelhardt and Artist Director of the chorale, Corb H. Felgenhour.

Madrigal Dinner in May 2019

The Chorale’s last concert of the season is sure to be a treat for the entire family.  If you enjoy medieval reenactments, you will especially enjoy A Madrigal Dinner!  In true medieval fashion, madrigals will perform selections while you enjoy a delicious meal!  Stay tuned for dates and times.

2018 Holiday Concert – Schubert’s Mass in G

You won’t want to miss Steiner’s Holiday concert in December!  Eric Cadena will be conducting the chorale’s performance of Franz Schubert’s Mass in G, along with other popular holiday selections.  What a great way to start the holiday season!  Stay tuned for dates and times.

2019 Spring Concert to feature Takis Pizanis

Steiner Chorale is pleased to announce that its spring concert will feature the incredibly talented pianist, Takis Pizanis, performing Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, Op 80.  Also, the Chorale will perform Faure’s Requiem.  Stay tuned for dates and times.

Takis received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University and his Master of Music from Michigan State University.  As a prize-winning pianist, he performs as a soloist, staff accompanist for clinics and conferences, and as a personal accompanist for instrumental and vocal soloists.  He has directed numerous high school and community musical productions and is the accompanist for the MSVMA’s teachers’ Summer Workshop.  Takis has been the accompanist for Steiner Chorale for over 20 years.

2018 Holiday Concert Guest Conductor – Eric Cadena

Steiner Chorale is pleased to announce Eric Cadena as the guest conductor for the 2018 Holiday concert. Corb Felgenhour, current Artistic Director, will be on sabbatical.

Eric teaches 6th-12th grade vocal music for East Lansing Public Schools. Prior to arriving at ELPS, he taught vocal music for ten years in Sturgis Public Schools. While in Sturgis, Eric also served as Producer/Music Director for thirteen musicals. In addition to singing in choirs, he has performed in musicals in high school and operas in college. Both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees are in music education from Western Michigan University. Eric currently serves his professional music association, MSVMA, on the planning teams for both the Summer Conference and Michigan Music Conference.

Rehearsals start September 10

Rehearsals for the Steiner Chorale are every Monday night beginning on September 10th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lansing, Michigan.

Auditions will be held on Aug. 27 and Sept. 4 & 6. at 7pm. Sign up to audition at http://www.steinerchorale.org/audition-information/.

A Sneak-a-peak at The Steiner Chorale’s Concert repertoire for the 2018-19 season:

Auditions for Mozart Requiem

Rehearsals begin on January 8th for the Mozart Requiem. An audition is required. Contact the Artistic Director, Corb Felgenhour, to schedule an audition at corb@felgenhour.com or fill out the contact form below. The Steiner Chorale will perform Mozart’s Requiem and Gustav Holst’s “Two Psalms”. First of two concerts will be March 16, 2018 with the Mason Symphony Orchestra. The work will be performed at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East Lansing.

Auditions for Our 50th Season!

Add your vocal talent to the Steiner Chorale for our 50th season, featuring Rutter’s Gloria and Magnificat in December, Mozart’s Requiem in March and much more!

Auditions will be held on Monday, August 28 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm and Thursday, August 31 from 6:30pm to 7:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church (3383 E. Lake Lansing Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823).

Please be prepared to sing America the Beautiful a cappella and sight-sing.
